Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress, best known for her roles in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce, she left Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first acting gig as the title character in the web-based video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. After earning an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance in Murder In Greenwich of 15 year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to win. Grace Rutherford's role she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace quit the show in the year 2005, to take on a more significant role in films, having appeared in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. Grace has been as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in the episode Californianation of the 6th Season. She plays Faith, who is a fan and muse of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal clan and the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a teenager as she was cast in minor parts in a few films directed by her father. She also worked with her brother in the 2001 popular film Donnie Darko. She also appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, as well as Sherrybaby (a film) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. She gained wider recognition when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercial films that she was a part of in the year 2006. The film was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part in Crazy Heart, (2009). In the following years, she played in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The most recent roles include as the main character in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
